*OPEN LETTER:* 

 *Irregular Payment of OYES Cadets' Monthly Stipends.*

It is with feelings of disappointment, social deprivation and abandonment towards the Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme (OYES) by the office of Honourable Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Azeez Olayemi Lawal that I write this open letter on behalf of the beneficiaries of the OYES across the state of Osun.

Since January, 2020., the beneficiaries of the OYES have been experiencing irregular and skipping payment of their monthly stipends. Thousands of OYES Cadets are having backlog of unpaid stipends for the months of January, 2020 - March, 2020. Some OYES Cadets have not been paid for all the aforementioned months while some got paid for the month of January, 2020, month of February and March, 2020 stipends are unpaid.

It is very sad situation and disheartening that in a time like this when the state is locked down due to COVID-19 pandemic, we do not have source of feeding ourselves and dependants due to nonpayment and irregularities in payment of monthly stipends.

The OYES Cadets are calling on our prudent and intelligent Governor, His Excellency, Adegboyega Oyetola to rise to our aid by using his good offices to bring lasting solution to our sufferings, predicament and pains, by ensuring our monthly stipends are paid as at when due including our backlogs, so that we are not forced to the streets for protest.
